Exceptional Charity Efforts in Dubai Aid Over 190 Individuals with AED 18 Million

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

During the first quarter of 2026, Dubai's Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) achieved remarkable success through its “Fruits of Your Charity” initiative. This program has supported over 190 beneficiaries with expenditure nearing AED 18 million, underscoring a commitment to impactful charitable endeavors.

The initiative aligns with Dubai’s aspirations to transform charity into a vehicle for sustainable development, particularly in critical areas such as healthcare and education.

In healthcare, over AED 1.3 million was invested in the care of 77 patients, encompassing treatment expenses and essential medical gear to enhance patients’ recovery journeys.

With funding exceeding AED 160,000, the “Chair of Knowledge” initiative supported students, facilitating their educational pursuits by alleviating tuition fees and aiding underserved families. This program highlights the vital role of education in securing a brighter future.

As a component of the Year of the Family 2026, the housing initiative allocated nearly AED 200,000 to assist Emirati families, aiming to enrich their living standards and bolster familial stability, a cornerstone of societal health.

The program also addressed the needs of financially struggling inmates through the “Relief of Distress” initiative, which allocated around AED 1.6 million to clear debts for 15 individuals, empowering them to reclaim their lives.

Additional efforts, including humanitarian support, the “Jood” platform, and the “Lifeline” campaign, contributed more than AED 14 million, showcasing the extensive impact of IACAD’s outreach.

Mohammed Musabeh Dhahi, CEO of the Charitable Work Sector, commented that these results indicate a transition from temporary aid to sustainable humanitarian investments. He reaffirmed the objective of improving quality of life, empowering families, and bolstering community resilience.

He further noted that IACAD will persist in creating innovative programs and enhancing partnerships to amplify the effects of charitable initiatives. The department’s aim remains to position Dubai as a global frontrunner in humanitarian efforts and a center for philanthropy.
