Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, an important event was held recently. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, attended the Sharjah Excellence Award 2024 ceremony. The event took place at Expo Centre Sharjah and was organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the ceremony, His Highness gave awards to the winners from different categories. These included local businesses, companies from Gulf countries, and people who have helped the economy grow. He also thanked the partners, sponsors, judges, and the team who worked hard to make this event a success.

This year, 17 businesses and entrepreneurs won awards for their great work. In the Sharjah Gulf Excellence Award category, the winners included famous companies like Saudi Electricity Company, Agility Global, and Qatar Islamic Bank. The Sharjah Gulf Localization Award was given to Fair Value from Saudi Arabia.

In the Sharjah Small and Medium Enterprises Award, Montessori Children's Garden Nursery and Gracia Group won. The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Award was given to Dr. Sunny Kurian and Hamad Ali Sulaiman Al Shamsi. Hamid Hassan Al Mazmi won an award for individuals with disabilities.

For the Sharjah Social Responsibility Award, the winners included the University of Sharjah, Sharjah Housing Department, and Sharjah Airport. Emirates Refining Company received an award for having the best safety standards at its facility.

The ceremony started with the UAE national anthem and verses from the Holy Quran. After that, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave a speech. He said these awards are part of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His Highness always supports activities that help build a strong economy and encourage people to do their best at work.

Al Owais thanked His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi for their support. He said their help has made the Sharjah Excellence Award successful in promoting good business practices and quality work.

He also shared that this year there were over 132 entries for the award, which is a 34% increase from last year. This shows that more businesses understand the importance of quality and new ideas in their work.

At the end of his speech, Al Owais congratulated all the winners and thanked the partners for their support. He said the Sharjah Excellence Award helps many organisations in the UAE and Gulf region to follow the best business practices. This will improve their work and increase investment opportunities in the future.
