His Highness Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, has officially sanctioned the development of a new three-lane bridge aimed at optimizing traffic conditions within the emirate.
This bridge will link Mleiha Road to the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Bridge, positioned at the junction of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Mleiha Road. The estimated expenditure for the undertaking is AED 140 million.
Officials have announced that construction will commence without delay, with completion anticipated within a year.
The design of the new bridge is set to facilitate improved traffic movement in all lanes, aiding in the reduction of congestion in the locality. Authorities estimate that this development will save commuters approximately nine minutes in travel time, thus enhancing the flow on one of Sharjah’s crucial roadways.
This initiative aligns with Sharjah’s broader infrastructure enhancement agenda, which seeks to bolster road links and improve transportation for both residents and visitors.
