Post by : Mina Rahman

In a troubling incident in Nova Scotia, a young individual was reported to have sustained serious injuries after a vicious attack by three large dogs on Saturday evening in Welshtown, a rural area.

According to the Shelburne District RCMP, first responders were alerted around 5 p.m. to the 100 block of Upper Sandy Cove Road after hearing of the distressing dog attack. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the youth had been cycling past a private residence when the dogs aggressively charged from the property and attacked.

Given the critical nature of the injuries, emergency personnel called for an air ambulance. The victim was swiftly transported by LifeFlight helicopter to a Halifax hospital, receiving urgent and specialized medical attention. At the time of airlifting, authorities classified the injuries as life-threatening.

Following the incident, the dogs were euthanized by a veterinarian in the interest of public safety. The RCMP has yet to reveal the breeds of the dogs involved, the age of the victim, or details about the property owner.

The police have confirmed that their investigation into the details surrounding this troubling incident is still ongoing, and further information will be disclosed when available as the case remains under examination.
