Salik Toll Charges Peak Rates on Sunday for Dubai Ride Event

Post by : Raina Nasser

Dubai’s toll operator Salik has announced it will apply peak-hour charges on Sunday, November 2, coinciding with the highly anticipated Dubai Ride — the flagship event of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.

Drivers will face increased toll fees of AED 6 during peak hours from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Off-peak rates of AED 4 will apply between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, and from 8:00 pm until 1:00 am. Normally, a standard AED 4 toll applies on Sundays, but dynamic pricing introduced in January now fluctuates based on time and traffic patterns.

This pricing adjustment follows the addition of two new toll gates at the Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South in November last year, increasing Dubai’s total toll gates to 10.

Alongside toll changes, key road closures will affect traffic flow during Dubai Ride. Sheikh Zayed Road will be shut between Trade Centre Roundabout and Al Hadiqa Road Bridge from 3:30 am to 10:30 am. Lower Financial Centre Street, between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, will also be closed. Additionally, one lane of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard will be temporarily closed.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recommended motorists use alternate routes to avoid delays. Suggested detours include Upper Financial Centre Road, Zabeel Palace Road, Al Wasl Road, Al Khail Road, and Al Asayel Street.

Dubai Ride invites cyclists of all ages and skill levels to take part in a unique ride through the city’s iconic streets. The event offers two routes — a 4 km and a 12 km circuit — designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced riders, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to promoting health and fitness.

As thousands gather to participate in this flagship event, Salik’s dynamic toll pricing and RTA’s traffic management measures aim to ensure smooth mobility and a safe, enjoyable experience for both drivers and cyclists.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated on road conditions throughout the day.
