Post by : Mara Rahim

The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 Observation Initiative has officially begun, uniting 55 delegates from various football associations around the globe. This week-long program focuses on sharing knowledge and practical insights into the organization of significant football events.

Organized by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) alongside the Qatar Football Association, this initiative endeavors to impart Qatar's vast experience in successfully hosting major sporting occasions, including the previously held FIFA World Cup 2022 and the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2023.

Participants will receive direct insights from LOC operational teams covering critical areas such as ticketing, security, medical services, and marketing rights. Additionally, they will tour crucial tournament sites including stadiums, training facilities, the Main Media Centre, and the accreditation hub.

LOC CEO Jassim Al Jassim remarked, "This initiative was established to assist federations globally in learning from Qatar's successes. Our experience in sports and entertainment sets a standard worldwide, and we proudly share our expertise." He further stated, "Qatar consistently aims to provide remarkable experiences for fans and athletes. Sharing this expertise is crucial for creating a sustainable legacy that benefits numerous sectors."

Following the FIFA World Cup 2022, which was hailed as one of the best editions in history, Qatar has continued to host significant events. Highlights include the inaugural 48-team FIFA U-17 World Cup, employing a centralized hosting format with 104 matches held at a single venue, alongside the ongoing FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025. Qatar is also set to host the final three matches of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025, showcasing its exceptional organizational skills.

Natasha Al Naber, Competitions Officer at the West Asian Football Federation, expressed, "Participating in this knowledge-sharing initiative in Qatar is incredible. Collaborating with the LOC enhances our understanding of tournament management and the collaborative efforts of different teams, which is invaluable for our forthcoming events."

Norman Gwangwadza, Head of Finance and Administration at the Zimbabwe Football Association, praised Qatar's proficiency in managing multiple events concurrently. He noted, "Qatar excels as a host. This program emphasizes that effective planning in areas such as transportation, procurement, and resource management is essential for successful tournaments."

Edna Nisola, a Media and Marketing Committee Member from the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association, highlighted the importance of fan engagement learning. She commented, "This football season in Qatar is bustling, and observing how the LOC crafts exceptional experiences offers fresh ideas for enhancing fan engagement and marketing strategies for future events."

Recently, the LOC also welcomed representatives from FIFA World Cup Saudi Arabia 2034 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027. Their visit focused on learning from Qatar’s successful execution of the first FIFA World Cup in the Arab world and the Middle East, therefore further reinforcing global football cooperation.
