Prince Andrew Urged to Testify Regarding Epstein Connections

Prince Andrew Urged to Testify Regarding Epstein Connections

Post by : Raina Nasser

Prince Andrew is facing increasing scrutiny as members of Congress in the United States have formally requested his assistance in an ongoing investigation into the late Jeffrey Epstein. The call from sixteen Democratic legislators arrived shortly after King Charles III officially rescinded Andrew's royal titles, excluding him from the monarchy.

The letter, penned to “Andrew Mountbatten Windsor,” encouraged the former prince to take part in a “transcribed interview” with the House Oversight Committee. This committee is delving into Epstein’s criminal network, aiming to uncover co-conspirators and enablers associated with his sex trafficking endeavors.

“The committee is aiming to reveal the identities of Mr. Epstein’s accomplices and to grasp the full scope of his criminal activities,” stated the letter. Lawmakers highlighted that Andrew’s previous ties to Epstein “may yield significant insights” into the ongoing investigation.

Signed by the sixteen Democrats, the letter called for a response from Andrew by November 20. However, given that the US Congress cannot compel foreign nationals to testify, it is uncertain whether Andrew will respond.

This renewed focus on Andrew follows the emergence of new evidence from the committee and the posthumous release of a memoir by Virginia Giuffre, who has accused him of sexual assault. These revelations have rekindled public anger in the UK, prompting decisive actions from King Charles.

On Wednesday, the official announcement in The Gazette, the UK’s public record, confirmed that King Charles III had eliminated all of Andrew’s royal titles and honours. Additionally, he is required to vacate his extensive 30-room residence on the Windsor estate.

Andrew has repeatedly denied Giuffre’s allegations regarding her being trafficked to engage in sexual acts with him at the age of 17. In 2022, he reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre, reportedly paying millions of pounds while maintaining no admission of guilt.

Tragically, Giuffre, who held dual US and Australian citizenship, passed away by suicide earlier this year in Australia.

The latest developments have placed Prince Andrew under heightened public and political scrutiny both within the UK and internationally—a clear indication that the repercussions of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein are far from resolved.
