5 Essential Habits to Prevent Weight Gain Before Year-End

Post by : Saif Nasser

As the year draws to a close, concerns over weight gain begin to surface for many. Festive gatherings, chilly weather, and an increase in snacking can all contribute to overeating and decreased activity levels. Rather than attempting to shed numerous kilos in a short time, experts recommend focusing on avoiding any additional weight gain. This approach is not only more manageable but also healthier for the average individual.

Fitness coach Raj Ganpath recently shared practical advice on his Instagram account. With only a few weeks remaining in the year, he emphasizes the importance of taking charge of your fitness. His straightforward advice is: “Prevent any weight gain before the year concludes.” This single guideline could enable you to usher in the new year with heightened confidence and less anxiety.

According to Ganpath, there’s no need for extreme diets or rigorous workout plans at this stage. Just five simple strategies can be easily incorporated into anyone’s daily life while still yielding significant results.

1. Engage in Exercise 20 Times
The coach urges individuals to engage in physical activity at least 20 times before the year ends, translating to approximately three to four sessions per week. Whether walking, practicing yoga, stretching, dancing, or visiting the gym, the key is to maintain consistent activity.

Ganpath affirms that six weeks is sufficient time to cultivate a new habit. Even short bouts of exercise can aid in burning calories, relieving stress, and enhancing overall fitness.

2. Incorporate Protein in Every Meal
Including protein in your meals not only keeps you feeling satisfied longer but also bolsters muscle strength and curbs cravings. Foods like eggs, paneer, chicken, lentils, tofu, yogurt, and nuts can easily be added to your diet. This practice makes it simpler to resist the urge to overindulge.

3. Increase Vegetable Intake
Vegetables are low in calories yet high in fiber, helping to keep you satiated without adding unwanted weight. Ganpath advises filling half your plate with vegetables, an effective strategy for controlling portion size while also enhancing digestion.

4. Limit Unhealthy Foods
As year-end celebrations often feature fried snacks, sweets, and junk foods, Raj Ganpath suggests steering clear of these items as much as possible. It’s unnecessary to eliminate them completely, but moderation can help prevent weight gain and avoid surges in sugar levels.

5. Stay Mindful and Monitor Habits
Lastly, he encourages awareness of your eating habits and levels of physical activity. Keeping a journal of what you consume or weighing yourself weekly can keep you accountable.

These five strategies are straightforward and do not necessitate strict dieting, allowing for balance during what is often the busiest time of the year.

Ganpath believes that finishing the year on a high note facilitates a smoother transition into the next one. Entering January without extra weight alleviates feelings of guilt and the pressure to adopt harsh diets.
