Al Waab Health Center Enhances Weekend Healthcare in Qatar

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) is set to introduce weekend health services at Al Waab Health Center, starting next Friday, further broadening healthcare access across Qatar.

With the inclusion of Al Waab, the count of PHCC health centers operating on weekends now reaches 22, strategically positioned in various regions to make healthcare more accessible, particularly during weekends.

The weekend-operating health centers encompass Musheireb, Al Sheehaniya, Muaither, Al Ruwais, Umm Salal, Madinat Khalifa, Leabaib, Al Khor, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Al Waab, Al Matar, West Bay, Omar Bin Al Khattab, Al Wakra, Rawdat Al Khail, Al Thumama, Al Mashaf, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, Al Wajba, and Al Jemailiya, which functions on an on-call basis.

PHCC emphasizes that this expansion is part of its commitment to enhance healthcare accessibility, bringing medical services closer to residents and improving the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery across the nation.

Additionally, PHCC is boosting urgent care through a network of 15 health centers offering 24-hour urgent care for adults, equipped to manage non-life-threatening medical issues, thus alleviating the workload on hospital emergency departments.

Patients also have access to an urgent telephone consultation service available from Sunday to Thursday by calling hotline 16000, permitting them to receive medical guidance and referrals without needing to visit a health center immediately.

Currently, PHCC operates 31 health centers across Qatar and remains a pivotal provider of community-oriented healthcare services, aiding the country’s aim to deliver efficient and accessible care to all inhabitants.
