In Indianapolis, Andrew Nembhard showcased his talent with an outstanding 28-point performance and a season-high 12 assists, leading the Indiana Pacers to a 116-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Monday. Bennedict Mathurin contributed significantly with 25 points, and Pascal Siakam added 23 as the Pacers improved their record, now winning four of their last six games after a rocky start of 2-16. The team faced adversity as they let a 19-point lead slip in the second half, but they rallied back to end the game with an impressive 19-4 run, primarily fueled by Nembhard's 12 late points.
Russell Westbrook, playing for the Kings, recorded a triple-double with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists. This marked his 207th career triple-double, extending his own record and highlighting his excellence in the game. DeMar DeRozan added 20 points, and Zach LaVine supported with 16, yet Sacramento faced another defeat, marking their fifth loss in six games.
In a parallel game, the Phoenix Suns narrowly defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 108-105. Mark Williams led the Suns with 22 points and seven rebounds, supported by Collin Gillespie’s 19. Anthony Edwards shone for the Timberwolves, scoring an impressive 40 points but couldn't prevent the end of their five-game winning streak. Julius Randle also made a notable contribution with 21 points.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs edged the New Orleans Pelicans 135-132 in a closely contested matchup. Dylan Harper made the game-winning basket with just 9.1 seconds on the clock, capping a career-best 22-point night. Despite a strong first half with a 20-point lead, the Spurs faced a challenge as the Pelicans briefly took the lead in the final quarter. Harrison Barnes led San Antonio with 24 points, while new addition Stephon Castle contributed 18 points in his return after missing nine games. For New Orleans, Derik Queen recorded his first career triple-double, amassing 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists; however, the Pelicans fell to their seventh consecutive loss, continuing a troubling trend this season.
