Oman has made impressive strides on the global stage, as highlighted by the 2025 Logistics Performance Index (LPI) by the World Bank, showcasing advancements in trade facilitation, logistics efficiency, and transport connections.

The report positions Oman among the world's leading nations across several logistics metrics, underscoring its emerging significance as a pivotal center for trade in the Gulf region.

Notably, Oman topped the charts globally in the “Starting an Export Supply Chain” category, boasting a remarkable processing time of only 0.8 days, a testament to its effective port operations and refined export processes.

Additionally, the country secured the ninth spot worldwide in the “Import Supply Chain Completion” category, reflecting its efficiency in moving imported goods swiftly from entry points to consumers and back.

Regionally, Oman holds the second position in the Gulf concerning the efficiency of export container dwell time, alongside a third-place ranking in direct shipping connectivity, evidencing robust maritime ties with global trade networks.

Moreover, Oman achieved the 25th position globally in the “Shipping Alliances” index and second in the Gulf, highlighting its strengthened partnerships among international shipping providers and expanded maritime collaborations.

The nation also ranked 39th globally in “Direct Maritime Connection Partners,” enhancing its accessibility to global markets through stable shipping routes and logistics collaborations.

In postal and delivery services, Oman earned 16th place globally and first in the Gulf for “Business Mail Delivery Time,” emphasizing the efficiency and dependability of its commercial postal operations.

Officials have remarked that these accomplishments are a reflection of ongoing national initiatives to improve ports, upgrade logistics infrastructure, and modernize customs and transport systems nationwide.

The World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index assesses countries based on speed, reliability, connectivity, and operational performance across maritime, air, and postal services, utilizing real shipment data for enhanced accuracy.

Oman’s remarkable ranking in the 2025 index further cements its place as a key global logistics hub, fostering economic diversification, attracting foreign investments, and fueling international trade growth.
