Post by : Mara Rahim

Following the guidance of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan, the Northern Borders Region is enthusiastically participating in the 10th King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. A dedicated pavilion has been established within the Ministry of Interior’s Security Oasis Exhibition, aimed at spotlighting the area's rich cultural heritage and modern lifestyle enhancements. This pavilion has rapidly become a major attraction for those eager to discover the region's unique identity and traditions.

The pavilion features a variety of traditional activities that embody the profound cultural essence of the Northern Borders Region. Among its highlights is the captivating northern Daha dance, performed by local groups, which has been a hit among festival-goers. Furthermore, the pavilion showcases displays of falconry, offering a closer look at one of Saudi Arabia’s most esteemed ancient sports. The melodious sounds of the rababa instrument provide an authentic cultural experience, immersing visitors in the region’s artistic legacy.

A specific area of the pavilion is devoted to northern hospitality, particularly highlighting traditional Saudi coffee. Here, guests can learn about its preparation methods, serving etiquette, and the significant cultural importance coffee holds within Saudi society. This feature emphasizes how coffee is central to welcoming guests and fostering social ties, reflecting one of the region's most cherished traditions.

Through its involvement, the Northern Borders Region aspires to promote its heritage, enhance cultural tourism, preserve enduring traditions, and showcase the pride of its community. The pavilion not only enriches the festival experience but also amplifies the region's cultural representation at this pivotal event in the Kingdom.
