New Mexico Investigates Claims of Buried Bodies Near Epstein Ranch

Post by : Saif Nasser

Authorities in New Mexico have launched an investigation into serious claims linked to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The state’s Department of Justice said it is looking into an allegation that two foreign girls were buried near Epstein’s Zorro Ranch.

The claim appeared in documents recently released by the United States Department of Justice. According to state officials, the allegation was found in a redacted email from 2019. The email reportedly claimed that two girls had died and were buried in the hills outside the ranch, which is located about 30 miles south of Santa Fe.

A spokesperson for the New Mexico Department of Justice said the state has asked federal officials for a full, unedited copy of the email. The department said it is taking the allegation seriously and is reviewing the newly released documents carefully.

The email was reportedly sent a few months after Epstein’s death in 2019. It was addressed to Eddy Aragon, a New Mexico radio host who had discussed Epstein’s property on his show. The sender claimed to be a former employee at Zorro Ranch and asked for one bitcoin in exchange for videos and information.

Aragon said he believed the message might be real and forwarded it to the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the time. He said he did not pay the sender and had no further contact. According to a 2021 FBI report included in the document release, Aragon visited an FBI office to report the email.

The redacted message claimed that the two girls died by strangulation during violent acts and were buried somewhere near the ranch. However, there is no public confirmation that the claims were proven true. The U.S. Justice Department has previously warned that some documents in the Epstein files contain unverified or false accusations.

In response to the new information, New Mexico’s state legislature has also started a broader investigation into accusations that Epstein abused girls and women at Zorro Ranch over many years. Lawmakers say it is important to examine what may have happened on the property and whether authorities missed warning signs.

Zorro Ranch was one of several properties owned by Epstein. He leased more than 1,200 acres of nearby state land starting in 1993. In 2019, after his death, New Mexico’s State Land Office canceled the leases. Officials said the land was not being used for ranching as required, but instead served as a privacy barrier around the property.

The new investigation highlights the lasting impact of Epstein’s crimes and the many unanswered questions that remain. Although Epstein died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal charges, public interest in the case has continued.

Officials say their goal is to determine whether there is any truth to the claims and to ensure that justice is served if crimes were committed. At this stage, the allegations remain under review, and investigators have not announced any confirmed findings.

The case serves as a reminder of the need for transparency, careful investigation, and accountability. As authorities continue their work, many are watching closely to see what facts may emerge from this latest review.
