Mumbai Takes Lead in Baseball United Season One

Mumbai has emerged as the leader in the inaugural Baseball United season after a commanding victory against Mid East. Lord de Vera excelled with a 3-for-4 performance and two RBIs, while Miguel Ojeda’s impressive two-run home run in the second inning energized Mumbai’s scoring.

Chander Woolridge shone with a flawless 2.1 innings of relief, not allowing any hits or runs, alongside striking out four batters to claim the win. The pitching staff was supported by Chase Gearing (2.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO), Akshay More (1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO), Brandon Kaminer (1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB), and closer Akeel Morris (1.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO), securing the team's success.

Mumbai's offensive performance was further bolstered by Gedionne Marlin (2-for-5, triple, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Brantley Bell (2-for-3), and Manuel Ascanio (1-for-3, 2 runs). With this victory, Mumbai finishes the regular season with a 6-3 record and awaits the second-place team from the Mid East vs. Arabia match for the upcoming United Series.

Mid East showcased contributions from Shuhei Fukuda and Hiroyuki Nakajima (each 2-for-3 with 1 RBI), along with Munenori Kawasaki (2-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI). Haru Yoshioka faced challenges on the mound, allowing eight hits, a home run, and five earned runs over three innings. Other pitchers included Shotaro Kasahara, Shotaro Nakata, Kodai Hamaya, Shingo Hirata, and Severino González.
