The UAE Warriors, the Middle East’s top mixed martial arts (MMA) organization, hosted an exciting double event over two nights, filled with non-stop action. The event made history when Muhidin Abubaker became the first Somalian MMA champion. He defeated Victor Nunes to win the interim bantamweight title at UAE Warriors 60, held at the Space 42 Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The fight was intense, with both fighters battling fiercely. After five rounds of action, most of which happened on the ground, Abubaker (10-1) came out on top, winning the interim flyweight title. This victory set up a highly anticipated unification match against Brazil’s current champion, Iago Ribeiro (13-3). Victor Nunes (11-6) struggled to handle Abubaker's control and smooth leg-wrapping technique, which was the key to his success. Abubaker is starting to gain a reputation as a major talent in the global MMA scene.

The night was full of excitement, with 12 thrilling matches between 24 male and female fighters from 17 different countries around the world. The event was attended by important figures like Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbut Al Nahyan, the President of the Asian Chess Federation, and Abdel Moneim Al Hashemi, the Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation. They were there to witness the amazing fights and to see the winners crowned.

Fouad Darwish, the CEO of Palms Sports and President of the UAE Warriors MMA Championship, presented the championship titles to the winners.

MMA fans in the Middle East are now eagerly awaiting the next set of events. UAE Warriors 61 and 62 are scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of July, where even more titles will be up for grabs. Keep an eye on social media for updates and build-up to these exciting events.
