Kyrgyz Deputy PM Inspects Social Initiatives in Osh

Post by : Shakul

Ulan Mamatkanov, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to enhancing social services, health care, and educational programs during his recent visit to Osh. This visit was part of the “Open Cabinet: Area of Responsibility” project, which grants journalists firsthand access to government operations and local development efforts.

Accompanied by media personnel, Mamatkanov observed significant social and infrastructure projects in the Osh area. The initiative aims to promote transparency, helping citizens understand the implementation of government programs in their communities.

Beginning his trip, Mamatkanov convened a meeting to discuss the execution of the “Bala Irysy” social benefits program, focusing on the effectiveness and coordination among various government sectors to ensure support reaches deserving families. He instructed officials to prioritize timely benefit distribution for citizens.

His visit aligned with International Children’s Day, where he spoke at a gathering in T. Satylganov Recreation Park, emphasizing the necessity of investing in the nation’s youth. With over 2.7 million children in Kyrgyzstan, he stressed that their education and overall well-being are crucial to national development.

The Deputy Chairman also viewed progress on the construction of Secondary School No. 2 named after S. Zhigitov, designed to host 1,200 students. Initiated by President Sadyr Japarov, this project aims to greatly enhance educational access in the region. Mamatkanov urged officials to maintain high construction standards and ensure timely completion.

Healthcare initiatives were another key aspect of his inspection at the Osh City Clinical Hospital, where he assessed patient care conditions and the advancement of a new 300-bed facility. Discussions revolved around enhancing healthcare accessibility and ensuring new projects adhere to quality benchmarks.

Mamatkanov’s visit concluded with an emphasis on fostering entrepreneurship and social welfare. He met a local business owner who benefited from financial aid under the social contract program to establish a sewing business. Additionally, at the Osh City Department of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration, officials showcased how specialized support programs are administered to aid community members. This visit underscored the Kyrgyz government's comprehensive strategy to improve overall quality of life through social, economic, education, and health initiatives.
