Hajj Flight Lands in Lucknow Amid Snag, Bomb Alert on Lufthansa

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

On Sunday morning, a flight coming from Saudi Arabia to Lucknow faced a technical problem while landing. This flight was carrying about 250 passengers, including people returning from the Hajj pilgrimage.

As the plane was landing at Lucknow Airport, smoke was seen coming from the left wheel. Experts believe this happened because of a leak in the hydraulic system. Thankfully, the flight landed safely and no one was hurt.

The aircraft was an Airbus A330-343. It took off from Jeddah at 10:45 PM and reached Lucknow around 6:50 AM, as per flight tracking website Flightradar24.

In a different incident, a Lufthansa flight going to Hyderabad had to turn back and return to Frankfurt in Germany. This happened because of a bomb threat. The flight, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, had taken off from Frankfurt at 2:14 PM local time on Sunday. The warning came about two hours later. The plane was supposed to land in Hyderabad early Monday.

Sources said the threat forced the flight to make a U-turn. But Lufthansa later said that the plane had to return because they didn’t get permission to land in Hyderabad.

Just a few days earlier, on Thursday, a tragic accident took place. A Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner operated by Air India crashed into a building. Sadly, all passengers onboard died, except for one person who survived.

All three incidents have raised concerns about air safety. Thankfully, most people in these events were safe, but investigations are still going on to find out more details.
