Women navigating their thirties often face a busy routine filled with work, family, and various obligations, which can hinder health focus. Siddhartha Singh, the fitness trainer of Tamannaah Bhatia, recently shared vital insights on three key supplements that women in this age group should consider.
Speaking on Instagram on November 24, Singh highlighted that not all supplements fit everyone, emphasizing the need to discern specific body requirements. He identified vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, and iron as three crucial supplements every woman in her thirties should think about.
1. Vitamin D for Immune Support
Vitamin D plays an essential role in bolstering the immune system. Singh noted that many adults miss out on sufficient sunlight due to extended indoor time or commutes. “The initial supplement is pivotal for immunity – vitamin D. Many of us are indoors most of the time. Therefore, consider supplementing with vitamin D,” he advised. Integrating vitamin D can enhance immune resilience and overall bone health as one ages.
2. Omega-3 for Managing Inflammation
Singh’s second recommendation is omega-3 fatty acids, especially for women who don’t consume fish regularly. Omega-3 is beneficial for controlling inflammation, which relates closely to heart health and joint wellness. Singh remarked, “The second supplement significantly aids inflammation – omega-3. If you eat fish twice a week, you might not need this. However, if you don’t, particularly if you are vegetarian, omega-3 is essential.” For vegetarians, plant-based sources like flaxseed and chia seeds can provide necessary omega-3s.
3. Iron for Sustained Energy and Blood Health
Singh identified iron as the most crucial supplement for women. Monthly menstruation leads to iron loss, making it vital for maintaining energy and health. He cautioned that iron supplementation should follow a medical consultation and blood testing. “The third supplement I deem crucial for women is iron. Due to monthly cycles, iron levels can drop significantly. Before starting iron supplements, consult your physician to determine the correct dosage tailored to your needs,” Singh explained.
A Comprehensive Health Approach
Singh’s guidance reinforces the idea that supplements are meant to complement a balanced diet rather than replace it. Adequate nutrition from whole foods, combined with regular physical activity and proper rest, forms the cornerstone of optimal health.
