The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Dubai SME), part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), has entered into a collaboration with noon Food to promote the development of Emirati-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the food and beverage (F&B) sector.
This agreement, formalized via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), sets forth a comprehensive strategy to integrate eligible members of Dubai SME onto noon’s digital platform, granting them access to an expansive customer base, delivery logistics, payment systems, and marketing initiatives.
This endeavor aligns with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which aims to enhance the emirate’s economic growth and position as a leading hub for entrepreneurship and SMEs by 2033.
Under the agreement's framework, noon Food has agreed to eliminate onboarding costs for participating SMEs. A tailored five-year commission structure will also be implemented, beginning at 10% in the first year and increasing to 20% by the fifth year. Furthermore, marketing assistance will be provided, including advertising credits and enhanced visibility during critical seasonal campaigns to aid these businesses in attracting customers and thriving sustainably.
The collaboration also encompasses operational support such as helping with onboarding, expert guidance, dedicated account oversight, and monthly performance evaluations. These offerings aim to enhance operational efficiency and transparency among SMEs.
Dubai SME will take a pivotal role in identifying eligible F&B enterprises, promoting this initiative, and ensuring its effective execution to maximize benefits for Emirati entrepreneurs.
Ahmad Al Room Almheiri, Acting CEO of Dubai SME, expressed that this partnership will open new avenues for local entrepreneurs by merging government backing with the capabilities of a digital platform. He emphasized that this initiative aims to foster sustainable growth and competitiveness for SMEs in the digital landscape.
Faraz Khalid, Group CEO of noon, remarked that this partnership will equip Emirati businesses with the essential tools and framework required for rapid expansion, further contributing to Dubai’s economic aspirations.
With SMEs constituting over 95% of registered businesses in Dubai, they play a vital role in job creation, innovation, and economic diversification. In particular, Emirati-owned F&B enterprises are instrumental in influencing Dubai’s food sector and boosting digital commerce.
Through this five-year partnership, both Dubai SME and noon Food aspire to broaden market access, enhance brand visibility, and accelerate digital evolution for local F&B entrepreneurs.
