Dubai RTA Enhances Driving Lessons with Cutting-Edge ADAS Technology

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has transformed its light vehicle driver training curriculum by integrating modern safety technologies, particularly focusing on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The curriculum now encompasses essential smart safety features, including forward collision warnings, blind spot monitoring, lane deviation alerts, parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, and anti-lock braking systems (ABS), which are integral to enhancing driving safety.

Sultan Al Akraf, Director of Drivers Licensing at RTA, stated that these modifications aim to elevate road safety standards, foster improved driving habits, and minimize traffic accidents, in line with global training benchmarks.

Developed in collaboration with driving schools, this updated curriculum is incorporated into both theoretical and practical sessions, as well as within the official learner handbook.

Al Akraf mentioned that over 250,000 trainees have benefitted from this revamped program, and regular workshops for driving instructors in Dubai are being conducted to ensure adherence to the latest vehicle technology teachings.

This initiative aligns with the RTA's overarching mission to create safer roadways by equipping new drivers with the knowledge to effectively utilize advanced vehicle safety technologies.
