Qatar's Ministry of Environment Partners with A2LA for ISO Lab Audit Training

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In collaboration with the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, Qatar's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, through its Monitoring and Inspection Department, conducted a targeted training program.

This four-day virtual course centered on laboratory auditing practices adhering to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards, recognized globally for testing and calibration.

A cohort of 22 participants from technical divisions, including the Monitoring and Inspection and Radiation Protection Departments, joined the training, alongside a representative from the office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs.

The focus of the training was to elevate skills in auditing environmental labs to meet international quality benchmarks. It also examined practical applications in domains like air quality measurements and radiation safety, ensuring that tests yield accurate and dependable results.

This endeavor underscores the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing local expertise, refining quality control systems, and promoting sustainable development objectives consistent with Qatar National Vision 2030.
