Earlier, he dismantled Pakistan's top order, claiming three wickets in the opening two overs, placing immense pressure on the hosts. Despite a commendable innings from captain Salman Ali Agha, who scored an unbeaten half-century, Pakistan struggled under Chameera's blitz.
Sri Lanka set a formidable total of 184, with openers Kusal Mendis and Kamil Mishara forging a strong start with a rapid 66-run partnership in just 36 balls. Mishara’s explosive knock of 76 off 48 balls, along with key runs from lower-order batsmen, solidified the total.
Pakistan’s chase began positively, with a solid start from Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan. However, Chameera turned the tide with crucial wickets, dismissing Farhan and the prized scalp of Babar Azam for a duck. Pakistan soon found themselves in a precarious position at 43 for four, highlighting Chameera’s impact.
After an early struggle, Salman Ali Agha and Usman Khan mounted a recovery, adding a vital 56 runs. Despite pitfalls, key contributions from Mohammad Nawaz brought the team to the brink of victory. With just 10 runs needed in the final over, Chameera's composed yorkers and a timely wicket sealed the match for Sri Lanka.
