Carragher Critiques Salah's 'Disgraceful' Outburst Following Liverpool Comments

Post by : Mina Rahman

Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has harshly rebuked Mohamed Salah in light of the striker's recent fiery remarks directed at manager Arne Slot, labeling the incident as “a disgrace.”

Following his exclusion from the starting eleven during Saturday's 3-3 draw with Leeds, Salah expressed feeling “thrown under a bus” and stated that his relationship with Slot was non-existent. This marked the third successive match where the renowned Egyptian forward found himself on the bench amid a noticeable dip in form.

In reaction to his comments, Liverpool has opted to omit the 33-year-old from the squad for the upcoming Champions League encounter with Inter Milan, emphasizing the club's disapproval of his statements.

Carragher, a celebrated former Champions League victor with Liverpool, remarked: “I considered his actions after the game to be disgraceful. Some may label it as an emotional outburst, but I disagree. When Salah engages in a mixed zone, it is often strategized with his agent to create maximum impact. He chose a moment of club struggle to publicly challenge the manager, possibly aiming to instigate change.”

Salah has played a crucial role in Liverpool's history, securing two Premier League titles and the Champions League during his time at the club. Despite recently extending his contract in April, there are indications that he may be approaching the end of his tenure at Liverpool, particularly with the African Cup of Nations on the horizon after the Premier League match against Brighton.

The forward has also been rumoured to be considering a highly lucrative transfer to the Saudi Pro League. Regarding this, Carragher commented: “The club made the right choice by not permitting him to leave for abroad. It's uncertain if he will don Liverpool colors again. While he is one of the club's all-time greats, continued behavior like this may jeopardize his future here.”

Salah's remarks and his subsequent exclusion from the team have sparked significant concerns about his future at Liverpool during this tumultuous period both on and off the field.
