The organising committee for the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has officially confirmed that Canadian tennis prodigy Victoria Mboko will participate in the fourth edition of the tournament. Scheduled for 31st January to 7th February 2026 at the International Tennis Centre in Zayed Sports City, this WTA 500 event promises to deliver thrilling tennis action for fans.

At just 19 years old, Toronto-born Mboko has experienced a remarkable 2025 season, leaping from outside the top 300 to the prestigious top 20 in the world rankings. A highlight of her year was securing the WTA 1000 National Bank Open title in Montreal in August, where she triumphed over four Grand Slam champions, including Naomi Osaka, to clinch her inaugural WTA Tour title and establish herself as a formidable talent in women’s tennis.

Continuing her success, Mboko captured another WTA title in Hong Kong in November after winning four consecutive ITF World Tennis Tour titles earlier in the year. She demonstrated her prowess by reaching the third round of the French Open, showcasing her consistency and growth on the global tennis stage. Her extraordinary rise within a single year positions her as one of the most exciting young players in the sport.

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open will additionally feature defending champion Belinda Bencic, alongside promising talents like Alexandra Eala from the Philippines. Tennis enthusiasts can anticipate electric competition and exhilarating matches as Victoria Mboko makes her debut in the UAE, taking on leading players from around the world.

Given her impressive performances throughout 2025 and swift rise in rankings, Mboko’s participation in the Abu Dhabi Open is set to attract significant attention from both tennis fans and the media. Her journey underscores the increasing influence of young, talented players who are making remarkable strides on the WTA Tour and injecting fresh excitement into the sport.
