Bombardier has achieved an important milestone after its Global 8000 business jet received certification from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This approval allows the aircraft to fly in US airspace and be sold to American customers, strengthening Bombardier’s position in the global private jet market.
The Global 8000 is being called the world’s fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde. It can reach a top speed of Mach 0.95, which is roughly 729 miles per hour. This makes it faster than any other business jet currently in operation.
Earlier this month, the Global 8000 officially entered service, meaning it is now ready for real-world use. Before the US approval, the aircraft had already received certification from Transport Canada on November 5, 2025. This allowed the jet to operate in Canada and marked a key step toward global acceptance.
Bombardier said the Global 8000 is designed for ultra-long-range travel. It can fly nonstop between distant cities, helping business leaders and private owners save valuable time. Along with speed, the jet also focuses on passenger comfort and advanced technology.
The company is now waiting for certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Once approved, the aircraft will be cleared to operate across Europe, further expanding its reach in international markets.
Aviation experts say FAA certification is especially important because the United States has one of the strictest aviation safety systems in the world. Approval from the FAA often boosts confidence among buyers and signals that an aircraft meets high safety and performance standards.
With this achievement, Bombardier has taken a strong step forward in business aviation. The Global 8000 is expected to attract interest from high-end clients who value speed, range, and reliability.
As the industry watches closely, the Global 8000 may set a new benchmark for future business jets, showing that faster and more efficient civilian aircraft are still possible in modern aviation.
