Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Al Ain celebrated its rich heritage and sporting culture with the launch of the inaugural Al Ain International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (AAIHEX) at the ADNEC Centre, running until 30 November. Esteemed guests, including His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, explored the extensive offerings of the exhibit.

Covering 24,000 square metres and showcasing 873 exhibitors from 12 nations, AAIHEX featured a broad array of hunting gear, falconry, equestrian sports, camels, saluki dogs, camping equipment, and adventure tourism. The event underscored local arts, crafts, and heritage practices, symbolizing the UAE's dedication to cultural preservation.

During their visit, the Sheikhs interacted with representatives from both national and international companies, discovering innovative developments in traditional sports equipment and technologies. Notably, Emirati participation constituted 88% of the exhibitors, affirming the exhibition's role as a platform for local brands seeking regional and global visibility.

The expo featured 11 key sectors, including veterinary products, outdoor and 4x4 gear, conservation efforts, mobile homes, and safari adventures. Attendees enjoyed over 20 live showcases and competitions, ranging from traditional cooking contests and Arabic coffee workshops to Emirati hospitality displays and folk performances like Al-Yowla and Al-Tabbah, ensuring rich cultural experiences.

Blending tradition with innovation, AAIHEX has quickly emerged as a vital event in Al Ain, coinciding with the city’s designation as the Gulf Capital of Tourism 2025. The exhibition not only honors national heritage but also offers a unique platform for enthusiasts and businesses to connect and exchange their knowledge in traditional sports and lifestyles.
