As the United Arab Emirates celebrates its 54th Eid Al Etihad, it reflects a significant trajectory of growth and global engagement. The country's leadership in diplomacy, humanitarian efforts, and economic innovation is a testament to its vision.

Global Diplomatic Initiatives
During 2025, the UAE played an essential role in resolving conflicts on both regional and international fronts. It actively pursued peaceful resolutions in Gaza, denounced the upheaval in Sudan, and supported initiatives aimed at civilian governance. The nation took the lead in dialogues between India and Pakistan, facilitated de-escalation discussions involving Israel and Iran, and rallied against aggressive actions witnessed in Qatar.

In addition, the UAE made strides in peace conversations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, while continuing mediation efforts for Russia and Ukraine, successfully achieving the exchange of 4,641 prisoners over 17 rounds of negotiations. The country welcomed numerous international dignitaries and participated in prominent summits, including G20, BRICS 2025, and COP30.

Economic Expansion and Investment Growth
The UAE's economy is forecasted to grow impressively by 4.8% as per the IMF. In the first half of 2025, non-oil foreign trade surged to AED1.7 trillion, a rise of 24.5%. The federal budget for 2026 has been set at AED92.4 billion in conjunction with the National Investment Strategy 2031.

Banking assets have reached AED5.199 trillion, with credit expansion at AED2.478 trillion. The newly launched initiative, the “UAE Global Centre of Trade,” aims to attract 1,000 international businesses, further consolidating the UAE as a global trade hub.

Tourism, Culture, and Major Developments
Tourism has accounted for AED257.3 billion in GDP, representing 13% of the national economy, with over 16.1 million visitors welcomed in the first half of 2025. Cultural and recreational projects thrived, marked by the openings of Disney Abu Dhabi, Therme Dubai, Al Tay Hills in Sharjah, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, and the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi.

Noteworthy, Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais made history as Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization, showcasing the UAE’s rising influence in global tourism.

Legislative and Technological Advances
In 2025, the UAE introduced modernized laws and governance structures, including the formation of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority and the Federal Authority for Ambulance and Civil Defence, as well as reforms to the Personal Status Law. The nation harnessed AI for legislative processes, securing advancements in cybersecurity, talent acquisition, and family growth under an ambitious 2031 agenda.

The country saw a 97% adoption of AI tools, with over 450,000 skilled programmers. The inauguration of the UAE-US AI Campus, with a 5-gigawatt capacity, alongside pivotal collaborations with France and Google, emphasized the commitment to global AI initiatives, including a $1 billion fund for projects in Africa.

Commitment to Sustainability and Humanitarian Efforts
Environmental responsibility remained at the forefront, encompassing deep-sea explorations, the extension of nature reserves in Abu Dhabi, and investment in solar and wind power initiatives.

The UAE reinforced its humanitarian outreach with $1.46 billion in international aid. Specific support to Gaza surpassed AED9.4 billion, delivering essential supplies and facilitating the evacuation of 3,000 injured individuals. Additionally, AED3 billion over two years was allocated to aid Sudan, while ongoing assistance reached Yemen and various crisis-affected regions.

Infrastructure and Urban Development
Significant infrastructure initiatives advanced with the high-speed rail connection between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, an AED170 billion national road plan, and comprehensive water and energy projects, demonstrating the UAE’s aspirations for sustainable urban growth.

As the UAE marks Eid Al Etihad, 2025 is celebrated as a landmark year that showcases the nation's unwavering dedication to diplomacy, economic vitality, technological progress, and humanitarian advocacy.
