Renowned Indian chef Vikas Khanna has been honored in TIME magazine's esteemed list of the 100 most influential figures globally. This recognition underscores his significant role in the culinary world and his influence on global cuisine.

On April 23, Vikas graced the TIME 100 Gala in New York, looking sharp in a chic all-black ensemble. He donned a tailored black bandhgala by Louis Vuitton, complemented by a crisp white shirt, tailored black trousers, and polished shoes. A peacock brooch from Nita Ambani added a cultural flair to his sophisticated look, sourced from Swadesh.

Following the gala, he shared photos on Instagram alongside a heartfelt reflection on his journey. Vikas recalled being derogatorily labeled as “Curry Boy” in his past, a term that initially stung deeply. He expressed how this phrase once carried disrespect but, over time, he transformed its connotation into one of pride through persistent effort and self-belief.

Today, Vikas embraces the term, viewing it as a representation of his identity and achievements. He detailed his evolution as a journey of persistence—“step by step, plate by plate”—transitioning from being overlooked to earning respect.
