Discovery of Missing Florida Student's Body Leads to Roommate's Arrest

In a shocking turn of events, authorities in the United States have identified the body of a missing University of South Florida student, one of two individuals who disappeared, as the search for the second continues. This case has raised serious safety concerns within the community.

The remains of 27-year-old Zamil Limon were located on the Howard Frankland Bridge, a crucial link in the Tampa Bay area, after an intensive investigation that concluded early Friday.

Authorities have apprehended Limon's roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih, who now faces a range of charges, including domestic violence, battery, false imprisonment, evidence tampering, failing to report a death, and unlawfully moving a body. While law enforcement has not confirmed the details of what transpired, they assert that the investigation is ongoing.

Limon and his partner, Nahida Bristy, aged 27, went missing on April 16. Originally from Bangladesh, both were doctoral students at the university—Limon focused on geography and environmental policy, while Bristy was studying chemical engineering.

Limon was last seen at their student housing complex, while Bristy was last recorded an hour later at a campus science building. Concern escalated when a friend could not reach them and reported their disappearance to the authorities.

Law enforcement responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence close to the university. Officers successfully evacuated people from the home, but the suspect barricaded himself inside after initially communicating with the police.

A SWAT team was called in to handle the standoff, which ended peacefully when the suspect surrendered and was arrested.

Police have reiterated that the investigation is still active. They continue to seek information on Nahida Bristy, who remains unaccounted for, encouraging anyone with leads to come forward.
