His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, welcomed President Alexander Stubb of Finland during his official visit aiming to bolster ties between their nations. The meeting at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi came as both leaders wish for Finland's ongoing progress and success.
Discussions centered on collaborative efforts across several sectors, particularly in the areas of economy, technology, trade, education, and innovation. Opportunities within the space industry and advanced fields were notably highlighted as both countries seek to foster mutual growth and an enduring partnership.
The leaders exchanged thoughts on significant regional and global issues, stressing the necessity of peace and stability. Their conversations reaffirmed a collaborative spirit in global dialogue and diplomacy to tackle challenges facing the international community.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the UAE's eagerness to deepen its relationship with Finland. He expressed hope that the visit would unveil fresh paths for growth, coinciding with the momentous 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
In addition, the UAE President referenced the commencement of negotiations for a free trade agreement and a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with the EU, viewing these efforts as pivotal to enhance economic collaboration with Finland, thus unlocking new avenues for investment and business.
President Stubb expressed gratitude for the gracious hospitality and highlighted Finland's aspirations to enhance economic and trade connections with the UAE. He noted the remarkable strides taken to solidify bilateral relations and the commitment to foster a lasting alliance.
The session also prioritized advancing joint ventures that would yield benefits for both populations, embodying a shared ambition to promote sustainable development, economic progress, and innovation while positively influencing global stability.
Current UAE officials present included H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman for Special Affairs; and other dignitaries.
This meeting underscored the evolving friendship between the UAE and Finland, emphasizing the dedication of both nations to exploring new opportunities for prosperity and stability in key sectors.
