Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Bahrain – The UAE has once again proven its sporting strength, delivering an outstanding performance at the 3rd Asian Youth Games held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. With 152 athletes competing across 19 sports, the nation proudly clinched 31 medals — finishing as the top Arab country and ranking eighth overall among 45 nations.

The UAE’s young athletes showcased excellence and determination across every field. From record-breaking sprints in athletics to a historic gold in the 50-metre butterfly — the fastest timing in the Games’ history — the team’s spirit of commitment was on full display.

This year’s contingent included 107 men and 45 women competing in diverse events such as handball, 3×3 basketball, equestrian, athletics, swimming, cycling, boxing, Muay Thai, e-sports, weightlifting, triathlon, taekwondo, table tennis, camel racing, badminton, golf, judo, jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts.

Among the standout achievements were the jiu-jitsu team’s multiple podium finishes, the debut success of the camel racing and Muay Thai teams, and consistent performances in combat and endurance events. Each win added to the UAE’s growing reputation as a rising powerhouse in regional and international sports.

The UAE’s contingent not only brought home medals but also carried forward a message of unity and national pride. The athletes, coaches, and support staff worked hand in hand, showcasing the country’s unwavering commitment to sporting excellence.

As the UAE flag flew high in Bahrain, it reflected the passion, perseverance, and pride that continue to drive the nation’s young athletes toward greater heights.
