On Sunday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan talked on the phone with the foreign ministers of Egypt and Jordan, Badr Abdelatty and Ayman Safadi. They discussed the latest situation in the Gaza Strip and ways to stop the fighting.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the three ministers focused on efforts to bring peace and establish a ceasefire in Gaza.
Since October 2023, Israel has been carrying out a strong military attack on Gaza. This attack has caused the deaths of nearly 54,800 Palestinians. Many of those killed are women and children. Aid groups have warned that more than 2 million people living in Gaza could face hunger because of the ongoing conflict.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. They are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice because of its actions against civilians in Gaza.
The situation remains very serious, and many countries are calling for peace and safety for the people in Gaza.
