In a significant advancement, Emirates SkyCargo has integrated with Pelicargo, a leading online platform for air freight bookings. This move positions Emirates SkyCargo as the first cargo airline from the Middle East to facilitate API connections with Pelicargo, enabling customers to execute instant online bookings.
The collaboration aims to enhance digital accessibility for freight forwarders and cargo customers in the US, where the demand for online booking options has surged in recent months.
Emirates SkyCargo reports that an increasing number of customers in the US are transitioning from traditional manual booking methods to digital solutions like eSkyCargo and various third-party platforms. The integration with Pelicargo will broaden the airline's cargo division's reach to a significantly larger customer base.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, stated that the firm’s digital innovations have already enhanced operational efficiency through quicker information exchange and streamlined booking processes. He emphasized that the connection with Pelicargo marks another crucial step in fostering relationships with both new and established customers across the United States.
Abbas also mentioned that the emphasis on digitalization will be vital for the company's growth strategy, enabling Emirates SkyCargo to deliver more flexible and efficient cargo solutions globally.
Jon Acquaviva, Co-Founder and President of Pelicargo, remarked that this partnership illustrates a mutual commitment between the companies to amplify customer experiences via digitally connected cargo solutions. He pointed out that the collaboration will facilitate quicker and more efficient access to Emirates SkyCargo's extensive global network for freight customers.
Emirates SkyCargo has made its five primary cargo products available on Pelicargo, including Fresh and Fresh Breathe for perishables, Pharma for temperature-sensitive medical shipments, Airfreight Priority for urgent needs, and AirFreight services for general transportation.
With this partnership, Pelicargo becomes the fourth digital marketplace to feature Emirates SkyCargo booking capabilities, following cargo.one, CargoAi, and WebCargo. These platforms allow customers to check flight schedules, pricing, real-time cargo availability, and make instant bookings around the clock.
