In a move to cater to the increased travel demand during the winter season, SpiceJet is prepared to introduce up to 100 new daily flights, subject to regulatory green lights. This strategic expansion is designed to enhance passenger connectivity, particularly during the bustling holiday period when travel volume peaks. Once authorized, these flights will facilitate both market progression and improved travel options over key domestic and international routes.
Recently, the airline has bolstered its fleet by incorporating 17 aircraft through various leasing arrangements and the return of previously non-operational planes over the past two months. This fleet enhancement allows SpiceJet increased operational versatility, enabling it to launch more services on heavily trafficked routes and strengthen its overall network resilience. A company representative noted that the primary goal is to increase aircraft availability and optimize usage through meticulous planning.
As part of its growth, SpiceJet added five new Boeing 737 aircraft last month, including a Boeing 737 MAX, bringing the total new additions to 15 over the last few weeks. This fleet consists of 14 damp-leased planes (two of which are 737 MAX models) alongside one previously decommissioned aircraft that has now been reactivated. All five of these newly introduced planes are currently in commercial service, significantly boosting travel options for passengers on various domestic and international journeys.
Following these new additions, SpiceJet has ramped up its operations from 100 daily services as of September 30, 2025, to 176 flights each day. The airline's focus remains on expanding its fleet, optimizing Boeing aircraft usage, and providing seamless travel experiences throughout India. This rapid scaling reflects SpiceJet's dedication to accommodating increasing passenger demand and elevating service standards throughout the busy winter traveling season.
