His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, presided over a regular session of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) on Tuesday morning at the Ruler’s Office.

Joining him were His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, alongside His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, another Deputy Ruler.

During the meeting, the Council gave its approval to the draft general budget for Sharjah government agencies for the fiscal year 2026. This proposed budget underscores the government's ongoing dedication to strengthening institutional performance, enhancing public expenditure efficiency, and improving service quality for the community.

The drafted budget details anticipated revenues and expenditures across significant government sectors, prioritizing effective planning, quantifiable performance indicators, and sustainable financial practices. It aims to bolster developmental priorities while ensuring resources benefit citizens, residents, and visitors alike in Sharjah.

Additionally, the Council resolved to submit the draft budget to the Sharjah Consultative Council for deliberation, which is a part of the legal procedures required prior to its final ratification.

Moreover, the Executive Council conducted a review of the performance of government departments and entities for the year 2025. This evaluation examined the progress toward strategic goals, assessed results against established targets, and evaluated proposed initiatives and priorities for 2026. The review is aimed at fostering ongoing improvements in government services and ensuring alignment with Sharjah's developmental ambitions and community needs.
