Teen Assault Incident at Singapore Mall Leads to Arrest of Seven Girls

Post by : Shakul

A serious incident of teenage violence has captured attention in Singapore as seven girls were detained following an alleged assault on a 14-year-old at a car park of a mall on Orchard Road. The event, reportedly occurring late on May 3, has raised alarms about youth safety and the dangers of group violence.

Reports indicate the victim was lured to the car park on the 11th floor, where she faced a group of girls. The mother of the victim noted that four of the assailants were acquaintances of her daughter, with additional individuals also present during the confrontation.

The attack is said to have persisted for approximately 40 minutes, during which the victim felt unable to escape or seek help due to the presence of numerous individuals in the vicinity.

Following the assault, the girl managed to reach The Centrepoint shopping center before heading to her grandmother’s house. There, she informed her mother about the ordeal, prompting immediate emergency assistance for her injuries.

The Singapore Police reported them receiving a distress call at approximately 11:25 p.m. on the night of the incident. The victim was taken to a local hospital while still conscious and remained hospitalized for nine days, undergoing ongoing treatment and recovery.

Ultimately, law enforcement apprehended seven girls aged between 12 and 17 related to this case. The suspects are under investigation for potential rioting charges, and officers are actively collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to fully understand the situation's dynamics.

The family of the victim revealed that she has been dealing with both psychological trauma and physical injuries due to the alleged assault. The incident has sparked renewed conversations on youth violence, the role of social media disputes, and the critical need for intervention strategies to help prevent such occurrences in the future.
