At the 2026 Qatar Foundation Excellence Awards, winners expressed that the honor from Sheikha Moza bint Nasser serves as a driving force for their ongoing pursuit of excellence and their commitment to Qatar's growth objectives.
During the graduation evening, honorees conveyed to Qatar News Agency that this recognition showcases Qatar Foundation's dedication to supporting gifted students, innovators, and future leaders.
This year, the esteemed awards received over 120 submissions. A specialized committee, comprising representatives from partner universities of Qatar Foundation, selected 16 remarkable graduates, including eight Qatari nationals, highlighting their academic excellence, leadership capabilities, and contributions in domains such as technology, AI, sustainability, healthcare, law, and arts.
Awardees acknowledged the role of Qatar Foundation’s educational framework in shaping their aspirations and facilitating their academic and career advancement. Many highlighted their dedication to innovation, research, and community service within Qatar.
Among the honored was Sheikha Noura Abdulrahman Al-Thani, a PhD graduate in Law from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, who affirmed that the award reinforces her commitment to utilizing legal expertise for societal benefit.
Khalid Al Abdullah, a Biological Sciences graduate from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, noted his aspirations to specialize in oncology and contribute to cancer research in Qatar.
Executive MBA graduate Mashael Mohammed Al Sulaiti from HEC Paris remarked that the recognition underscores the significance of discipline and clear objectives in achieving success.
Meanwhile, Khawla Zaki Al Essa from Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar stressed the transformative potential of art in fostering positive social change.
Lolwa Mohammed Al Misnad from Northwestern University in Qatar highlighted teamwork and collaboration as vital for enacting meaningful progress.
Another recipient, Ali Ibrahim Al Emadi, who holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University at Qatar, shared how Qatar Foundation's progressive educational environment inspired him to pursue doctoral studies that marry industrial applications with academic innovation.
Qatar Foundation officials commended the graduates for their interdisciplinary capabilities while upholding strong ethical standards. They also revealed that nearly 30% of the honorees have already embarked on innovative entrepreneurial ventures that merge fields like healthcare, computing, education, and design.
The event further acknowledged various other students from Qatar Foundation's partner universities across diverse academic sectors.
