Wildfire Spreads Through Oman’s Wadi Al Abyad Region

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Dubai: A fierce wildfire has erupted in Oman’s Wadi Al Abyad area in Nizwa, Al Dakhiliya Governorate, triggering an immediate response from the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).

The fire broke out among several trees and quickly spread due to dry conditions and strong winds. Emergency teams were dispatched to the location soon after the alarm was raised, launching large-scale operations to contain the blaze.

Firefighters are currently on-site using water tankers and specialized firefighting equipment to prevent the flames from reaching nearby plantations and residential areas. The rugged landscape and high temperatures have made the operation more challenging.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries have been reported so far. Crews continue their efforts around the clock, focusing on cooling down hotspots and preventing the fire from reigniting.

Local residents have been advised to avoid the affected area as operations continue, with teams determined to bring the situation fully under control.
