New Directors Take Charge at Sharjah University of the Arts

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

A new era in arts education is unfolding in Sharjah with the appointment of new directors for the academies at the University of the Arts Sharjah, a decision made by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Dr Peter Barlow, an expert in the performing arts sphere, is set to lead the Academy of Performing Arts. With a wealth of knowledge in theatre, music, and dance education, he is poised to enhance the academy's offerings while connecting students to international artistic trends.

On the other hand, Dr Nadia Mahdi Al Hassni, a renowned visual artist and educator, will oversee the Academy of Visual Arts. Her background in painting and contemporary practices will foster an engaging atmosphere for students seeking to develop their unique artistic voices.

These strategic appointments demonstrate Sharjah's dedication to promoting top-tier education and nurturing the next generation of creative talents. Each academy aims to create a supportive and lively environment that empowers students to thrive in their fields, contributing to the UAE's rich cultural tapestry.

By ushering in this fresh leadership, the University of the Arts Sharjah solidifies its role as a premier center for arts education in the region, fostering a spirit of collaboration and artistic excellence.
