In an extraordinary showcase of technology, a humanoid robot has triumphed over human competitors, establishing a new record at the Beijing half marathon.
Designed with an autonomous navigation system and developed by the Chinese smartphone company Honor, the robot traversed the 21-kilometer course in an impressive 50 minutes and 26 seconds. This performance reflects an average speed of approximately 25 km/h, outpacing all human runners in the event.
Remarkably, this time also eclipsed the existing men's half marathon world record of 57 minutes and 20 seconds, set by Ugandan athlete Jacob Kiplimo.
This milestone underscores the rapid advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence from Chinese developers, signifying a turning point where machines not only compete with humans but also excel in endurance challenges.
