Enhancing UAE-Hungary Relations Through FNC Engagement

Post by : Mara Rahim

During a significant official visit to Hungary, Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), engaged with Illés Boglárka, State Secretary for Bilateral Relations at Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Their meeting at the ministry's Budapest headquarters underscores the depth of relations between the two nations.

Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the historical friendship that exists between the UAE and Hungary, noting that the visit, led by FNC Speaker Saqr Ghobash, serves to further solidify parliamentary ties and enhance bilateral partnerships.

Significantly, the FNC and Hungary's National Assembly formalized their commitment through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering cooperation and mutual understanding. A joint statement was also released, stressing the importance of bolstering relations and recognizing the role of parliamentary diplomacy in advancing peace, stability, and sustainable development.

Highlighting the UAE's initiatives towards tolerance and coexistence, Dr. Al Nuaimi referred to the Abraham Accords as pivotal in promoting regional peace, alongside the UAE’s impactful humanitarian efforts. He reaffirmed the UAE’s significant role in both regional and global security.

Illés Boglárka expressed admiration for the enduring friendship and collaboration with the UAE, indicating Hungary’s desire to extend their partnership across various sectors. She pointed out that official visits and bilateral agreements are crucial for achieving wider mutual objectives.

Both leaders recognized parliamentary dialogue as essential for improving collaboration and global understanding. They concluded that joint initiatives, regular consultations, and the exchange of visits can foster cooperation on shared interests, enhancing global peace and stability.

The FNC delegation's engagement is projected to unveil new opportunities for collaborative projects and partnerships. Both nations reiterated their commitment to ongoing dialogue, fostering shared values to fortify the enduring link between them. The UAE's emphasis on humanitarian efforts and peace resonates with Hungary’s aim of advancing international cooperation for sustainable development.
