Emirates SkyCargo Expands with New Route to Bangkok

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Dubai: In a major boost to regional trade connectivity, Emirates SkyCargo has introduced a weekly freighter service to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), expanding its already extensive Asian network. The move enhances the flow of goods between Thailand and global markets, with Dubai serving as a central logistics hub.

The cargo division of Emirates now operates freighters to 43 global destinations, including 11 across East and Southeast Asia. This new addition supports Thailand’s “Thailand 4.0” strategy, aimed at driving growth through innovation and advanced industries such as smart electronics, biotechnology, and robotics.

Equipped with an all-widebody fleet of over 260 aircraft, Emirates SkyCargo ensures the safe and efficient transport of Thailand’s high-value exports — from delicate tech products to garments and seasonal fruits. The Bangkok service strengthens trade links between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, providing faster access and more reliable capacity.

In response to rising cargo demand, the airline has also ramped up its operations in Vietnam and China. Hanoi now benefits from four weekly freighters, while Guangzhou enjoys six weekly services, ensuring consistent movement of goods such as electronics, eCommerce items, and industrial materials.

Over the years, Emirates SkyCargo has built one of the most comprehensive cargo networks in the region, currently serving 25 gateways across East and Southeast Asia with 45 dedicated freighter services, 13 charter operations, and more than 315 passenger flights weekly.

With Asia emerging as a key driver of global trade, Emirates SkyCargo’s Bangkok expansion underscores its ongoing commitment to supporting regional growth through efficient and reliable air freight solutions.
