Crown Prince Khaled of UAE Lands in Johannesburg for G20 Discussions

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, to engage in the 2025 G20 Summit. He represents President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE’s active role in this key international forum underscores its commitment to global cooperation and development initiatives.

This year, Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of South Africa, extended an invitation to the UAE to participate in the G20 Summit. This invitation highlights the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and South Africa and acknowledges the UAE's substantial contributions to addressing global challenges. The summit convenes the world’s major economies to deliberate on pressing economic, environmental, and social issues.

Sheikh Khaled is joined by a distinguished delegation from the UAE, which includes various ministers and top officials. Key figures accompanying him include Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment. Other members of the delegation are Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Additionally, Maryam Eid AlMheiri, Chairperson of Abu Dhabi Media Office, is present.

This edition of the G20 Summit is particularly significant as it marks the first time the event is hosted in Africa. The theme emphasizes the continent's growing economic presence and the call for inclusive development.
