Post by : Shakul

Tigran Khachatryan, Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister, recently met with French ambassador Olivier Decottignies to explore essential elements of their bilateral partnership and upcoming diplomatic activities. This strategic meeting, held in Yerevan, aimed at fortifying the relations between Armenia and France.

A significant focus of the talks was on the anticipated visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Armenia. Officials underscored the relevance of the European Political Community summit on May 4, which will precede Macron's state visit the following day.

The two sides deliberated on several priority sectors within their bilateral framework, particularly concerning drinking water supply and wastewater management projects, which are deemed vital for enhancing Armenia's infrastructure and public utility services.

Additionally, discussions included France's commitment to the construction of the Sisian-Kajaran segment of the North-South road corridor, recognized as a pivot for improving regional connectivity and fostering economic growth.

Cooperation in education was another focal point, with both nations looking at ways to enhance academic partnerships and promote exchange initiatives. Other strategic development projects and initiatives were also on the agenda.

Officials from Armenia and France reiterated the need for ongoing constructive dialogue and collaboration to address unresolved matters and ensure the effective execution of their joint initiatives.

This meeting further solidified the mutual commitment of Armenia and France to intensify their partnership and broaden cooperation across diverse sectors, reinforcing enduring diplomatic and economic relations.
