Global Aid Groups Call on World Leaders to Stop Genocide in Gaza

Introduction

More than 20 leading humanitarian organisations have made a united and urgent call to world leaders. They say Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and warn that if action is not taken immediately, almost one million more Palestinians could die.

These groups include well-known names such as Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Save the Children, Islamic Relief, and CARE International. Their joint statement comes after the United Nations officially declared that Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to genocide.

Gaza’s Unbearable Suffering

According to estimates, at least 65,000 Palestinians have been killed so far in Gaza, including more than 20,000 children. Bombing, starvation, and forced displacement have left people with no safe place to go.

The aid groups warn that Gaza is entering an “even deadlier period” if the international community continues to stay silent. They say the Israeli army’s ground occupation of Gaza City is designed to make the city “deliberately uninhabitable”, pushing its people into permanent exile.

Humanitarian Leaders Speak Out

In their statement, the aid organisations said:

  • “The inhumanity of the situation in Gaza is unconscionable.”

  • “We have seen firsthand the horrifying deaths and suffering.”

  • “Our warnings have gone unheeded, and thousands more lives are still at risk.”

They added that more than half a million people are starving, with famine already declared. Families are surviving without food, clean water, or shelter, while bombs continue to fall. People are dying every single day because of hunger and deprivation.

Despite these conditions being well-documented for nearly two years under Israel’s siege, the groups say world leaders have failed to act.

Call for Immediate Action

The agencies demand that countries use every possible tool — political, economic, and legal — to stop the killings. “Rhetoric and half measures are not enough,” they said.

They warned that history will judge today’s leaders by their response. Failure to act, they said, would make countries complicit in the genocide and set a dangerous precedent for the future.

Doctors Without Borders: “Systematic Destruction”

Christopher Lockyear, the Secretary-General of Doctors Without Borders (MSF), said Israel’s actions amount to “the systematic destruction of a people.”

He declared:

  • “Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.”

  • “The Israeli military has attacked everything and everyone in Gaza.”

Lockyear stressed that Israel is acting with complete impunity — without fear of punishment or accountability.

Other Signatories

Alongside MSF, other groups signing the statement include:

  • Islamic Relief Worldwide

  • ActionAid International

  • CARE International

  • Handicap International

  • Save the Children International

  • Norwegian Refugee Council

  • Médecins du Monde

Together, they represent millions of humanitarian workers worldwide, all united in calling for urgent intervention.

The UN’s Determination of Genocide

Navi Pillay, chairwoman of the UN’s Independent International Commission of Inquiry, confirmed this week that the UN has determined Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

She said Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and President Isaac Herzog, bear responsibility based on their own public statements.

The UN report concluded that Israel has the “genocidal intent to destroy, in whole or in part, the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”

Israel’s Response

Israel’s Foreign Ministry dismissed the UN report as “fake” and accused the authors of being “proxies of Hamas.” Despite international condemnation, Israeli officials continue their military campaign, insisting it is justified as part of their war on Hamas.

Conclusion

The situation in Gaza has reached a breaking point. With tens of thousands already dead, children starving, and entire cities destroyed, the call from humanitarian groups is clear: the world must act now.

If leaders continue to ignore these warnings, history will remember their silence as complicity in one of the darkest chapters of modern times.
