As part of enhanced road safety measures, Abu Dhabi will enforce a prohibition on delivery motorcycles on high-speed roads beginning May 15, 2026. This initiative aims to mitigate traffic risks and bolster safety across the emirate.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), under the umbrella of Abu Dhabi Mobility, has detailed that delivery motorcycles are banned from roads with speed limits exceeding 120 km/h.
This new regulation specifically targets sections of key routes, including Sheikh Zayed Street, particularly between Sheikh Zayed Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Tunnel.
Officials emphasize that this restriction not only enhances the safety standards for all road users but also promotes smoother traffic flow on significant transport corridors.
The primary goal behind this ruling is to shield delivery riders from the hazards linked with high-speed traffic while simultaneously improving the movement of traffic on busy roadways.
This law reflects Abu Dhabi's ongoing commitment to road safety and will take effect on the appointed date of May 15, 2026.
