Zayed National Museum Introduces Four Interactive Children's Books

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The Zayed National Museum, representing the United Arab Emirates, has launched four interactive children's books available in both English and Arabic to enhance understanding of the nation's heritage and environment.

These books draw inspiration from the UAE's rich traditions and natural beauty. They feature engaging components such as touch-and-feel textures, pop-up illustrations, and activity animations designed to create an enriching and entertaining learning atmosphere for young readers.

The first book, Qudwati – Under the Desert Sky, showcases the desert settings that shaped Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s values. Through narratives and visuals, it teaches children the significance of resilience, curiosity, and respect for their surroundings. Its Arabic version was crafted in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.

Kitabu – Step Inside, Listen Closely invites children on a pop-up tour through the museum’s galleries, architecture, and exhibitions, fostering exploration and an understanding of UAE’s history and culture.

What’s This? – Animals of the United Arab Emirates is tailored for early learners. This tactile book introduces them to local wildlife, sparking curiosity about animals.

The final book, Our Life by the Sea, is an interactive coloring book created with Éditions Animées, emphasizing the sea's significance in Emirati culture. Kids can color and use the BlinkBook app to animate their artwork.

These publications are part of the museum's broader publishing initiative, which also includes previous titles like Magan Rediscovered: The Building of a Bronze Age Boat That Sailed the Arabian Gulf and Zayed National Museum’s Collection Highlights. This effort highlights the museum's commitment to education, research, and cultural engagement.

These new titles are currently available at Al Nagwa Boutique within Zayed National Museum.
