During a targeted operation in Kelantan, Malaysia, police apprehended a woman and confiscated five firearms linked to illegal wildlife activities. The raid was executed in Kampung Miak, Kuala Krai, following intelligence alerting authorities to questionable operations.

Under the auspices of Ops Bersepadu Khazanah, this coordinated initiative saw participation from various agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police and the Kelantan Forestry Department, all focused on tackling wildlife crimes.

According to Ahmad Radzi Hussain, the Southeast Brigade General Operations Force Commander, the raid commenced around 6:45pm, with the enforcement team clearly identifying themselves and validating their authority.

Upon inspection, officials discovered five firearms of assorted types within the premises, raising alarms regarding their linkage to suspected illegal wildlife operations.

The woman was taken into custody to assist investigators, particularly on charges relating to the Firearms Act. Authorities have yet to reveal her identity or any affiliations with wildlife trafficking organizations.

All confiscated firearms are now housed at the Gua Musang district police headquarters for thorough analysis and legal processing. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full scope of related activities.

This incident underscores Malaysia's persistent efforts to combat illegal wildlife trade and associated crimes, affirming officials' dedication to safeguarding natural resources through collaborative enforcement actions.
