WhatsApp Unveils Multi-Account Functionality for iPhone Users

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

WhatsApp is rolling out a highly anticipated feature for iPhone users: the ability to manage multiple accounts on one device. This update aligns iOS with Android, which has supported this functionality since 2023.

Currently available in beta for iOS version 25.34.10.72 and newer, the feature allows users to integrate a second WhatsApp account directly within the app. Each account maintains its own chat logs, notifications, privacy settings, and profile information, streamlining the distinction between personal and professional conversations.

Once activated, a new Account List will appear in the Settings section, facilitating effortless account switching without having to log out. To ensure user security, device-level authentication options like Face ID or Touch ID will be required when toggling between accounts, enhancing protection for sensitive discussions.

This enhancement eliminates the need for an additional phone or reliance on the WhatsApp Business app for many iPhone users. Notifications explicitly display the account that received a message, limiting confusion when managing several numbers.

The rollout is taking place gradually, currently accessible to select beta testers across various regions. While WhatsApp has not disclosed a specific public release date, wider availability is anticipated as the beta progresses. This addition reinforces the platform's commitment to expanding features that empower users in managing their digital communication effectively across different identities and devices.
