Masdar City Free Zone has solidified its reputation as a premier business ecosystem in the UAE by securing three prestigious awards, highlighting its swift growth, strong support for entrepreneurs, and commitment to innovation and technology.

This recognition follows an impressive growth year for the free zone, with a 36 percent increase in active companies within its community. This translates to a remarkable 172 percent year-on-year growth, with nearly 1,000 new enterprises established in 2025 alone.

With a roster exceeding 2,000 registered businesses, Masdar City Free Zone has emerged as a favored hub for start-ups, which constitute over half of its business landscape. Employment opportunities surged by 33 percent, reflecting a 71 percent annual growth.

The free zone has garnered accolades for its assistance to small and medium enterprises through flexible licensing options, budget-friendly business packages, and streamlined regulatory frameworks, facilitating easy establishment and growth of SMEs. A standout feature is its advanced flexi research and development lab, fostering innovation and product testing across various sectors.

Masdar City Free Zone continues to be a magnet for companies in vital sectors such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, agritech, life sciences, smart mobility, and space technology. The innovation-fostering environment is enhanced through partnerships among start-ups, global firms, research organizations, and investors.

Boasting a 99 percent occupancy rate with businesses from over 90 countries, Masdar City Free Zone is pivotal in propelling Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification strategies, offering a future-ready platform for the convergence of ideas, technology, and sustainable growth.
